"A weird artist" Fact 48
Surrealist painter Salvador Dalí would sit down and place a metal plate on the floor beside his chair. He would hold a key between his fingers over the plate and as drifted off to stage one of sleep, his hand would relax and release it. The sound of the key crashing against the metal would wake him and he would then sketch the odd images drifting through his mind.
